Six performers and three musicians meet in a place that might be a nightclub, an arena, or an underground shelter. The bass is rock’n’roll, but the piano and drums are mischievously jazzy. Isolated but eager to be amazed, the dancers move across a constantly changing space that forces them to get closer to one another (sometimes clumsily), to build mutual trust, and to engage in their encounters in new ways. In this piece charged with raw energy, sometimes sensual, sometimes poetic, the incisive, nervous movements choreographed by Meg Stuart explore the sensitive territories of desire whilst placing profound trust in the body, its deep-seated memories, and its ability to heal.
